About This Site
I had wanted my own domain name since I became interested in computers and the Internet. On October 24th, 2002, I decided to make my mark on the Internet and registered momrik.com and mtdewvirus.com.
I first hosted at Aplus.Net for about a year and a half. The first pages at mtdewvirus.com used frames (Yes, I admit I used frames.) and were my start into writing HTML. I lost interest in the site after a few months and then in November of 2003 I decided it was time for change. I found WordPress 0.72 and started my first blog.
Near the middle of July, 2004 I needed more space and bandwidth for web hosting because of a new project. I purchased pokerchiptricks.com from the owner so that I could work on developing my poker chip trick tutorials and have a real domain for them, instead of simply a page on this site. I bought a dedicated server from ServerMatrix and moved all of my domains over to it. During the first few days I experienced a few difficulties, but everything was back up and running in no time. Currently all of my domains are registered at 1&1, which has the best prices I’ve seen.
On September 26th, 2004 I launched Poker Chip Tricks as a permanent place for the poker chip trick tutorials and moved them off of this site. A few days later on October 2nd, 2004 I launched a poker blog at 2 Hole Cards so that this site wouldn’t have so many posts about poker. In July of 2006, Poker Chip Tricks was sold.
As of March 6th, 2004, everything here at mtdewvirus.com is running through WordPress. No more photo galleries. No more static pages to update. All of my photos have been moved off site to a service called Flickr. All of the pages are pulled from the database used by WP.
So there’s some of the history of mtdewvirus.com.
