Orkut

Published on Friday, January 30th, 2004 at 8:37pm.

I’ve joined a social networking site called Orkut (thanks for the invite Matt). It’s a way to keep in touch with friends, meet new people, find dates, share ideas, and other things. You may have heard of sites such Friendster or Tribe.net, which are along the same lines. From what I’ve read, Orkut is supposed to improve on all of these other sites. (...)

The Friday 5

Published on Friday, January 30th, 2004 at 7:44pm.

You have just won one million dollars: Who do you call first? -My Dad. What is the first thing you buy for yourself? -A big house. What is the first thing you buy for someone else? -Hunting property for Dad. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom? -Hell no! I won it! I’ll buy a few things for other people, but there won’t be any giving it away. Do you invest any? If so, how? (...)

I had my interview today for the programmer/analyst position at the University. I think it went pretty well. It didn’t get started until an hour after it was scheduled due to the fact the some of the programmers were working on a portion of the website for displaying tax information. (...)

Filed My Taxes

Published on Wednesday, January 28th, 2004 at 6:01pm.

I filed my federal and state taxes today and am happy to be getting a nice return. I love when they have to give me my money back. I used the online tax preperation at H&R Block and it cost me just under $40. I set it to directly deposit my return into my checking account, so I should have my money back in a week or two. (...)

Another Day Off

Published on Wednesday, January 28th, 2004 at 7:24am.

I took that directly from the SVSU website. Yes, we are closed once again because of the storm that came though the past two days. Every time this happens, I love working for a small University more and more. You can’t argue against what in reality is an “unplanned paid vacation” as I’ll call it. (...)

Brain Teaser

Published on Tuesday, January 27th, 2004 at 5:13pm.

A friend read this brain teaser to her 9th grade class today. I come in different shapes and sizes. Parts of me are curved and others are straight. You can put me anywhere you like, but to do my job I only have one right place. She says the answer is a “key”. I’m sure that’s what those freshmen were thinking! (...)

SVSU Campus Closed

Published on Tuesday, January 27th, 2004 at 10:36am.

SVSU is closed again today because of the big storm coming through. I don’t have to work, but still get paid…I love it! We are supposed to get 6-10 inches today, so if that happens I wouldn’t be suprised if we get canceled tomorrow also. Enjoy your day, I know I’m going to enjoy mine! (...)

My Sister…My Wife?

Published on Monday, January 26th, 2004 at 7:20pm.

Yesterday while I was shopping for dress pants and shirts, the lady in the store called Heather my wife. We’re pretty used to it by now, but it’s always good for a quick laugh. I’m not even sure if I could count how many times it has happened. Maybe people think that because we are roughly the same age and get along so well. (...)

Weekend Update

Published on Sunday, January 25th, 2004 at 9:09pm.

As you can probably tell from my posts this weekend, I’ve been messing/hacking with my site. I believe I made at least 3 posts related to web design. It really was a “geek” weekend for me. On Saturday, I didn’t crawl out of bed until 1:30, which may be a new record. I never showered or changed my clothes the whole day actually. (...)

S.W.A.T.

Published on Sunday, January 25th, 2004 at 2:19am.

Special Weapons and Tactics. There were plenty of each in this movie. It was great when I saw it in the theater this summer and great again watching the DVD. It would be hard to make a bad movie with a cast full of big names such as Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Farrell, Michelle Rodriguez, and LL Cool J. S.W.A.T didn’t disappoint in any aspect as a movie. 4 Game Winning Streak

Published on Friday, January 23rd, 2004 at 11:02pm.

Today we finally played a good game in basketball league. We beat a team (by about 14) that we barely lost to in the first half of the season. We really shot well and took good shots. My shot finally came around as I stepped in closer to the basket and made a few drives to the hole. I had at least 20 of our 54 or so points. Felt good to finally drill some shots. (...)

Living On A Golf Course

Published on Friday, January 23rd, 2004 at 7:36pm.

I’ve always said that I would like to have a house on a golf course. Today I questioned myself…why? The view would be awesome, but other than that, there really aren’t any great advantages I can think of. The property around a “nice” golf course is over priced because of the location. You can’t walk out and play a few holes anytime you want. (...)

Complete Exhaustion

Belly Of The Beast
