I read the book before the movie and I must say that the movie didn't do the book justice. I felt the plot wasn't as strong because they changed the trial from tobacco use to gun safety. The book was more credible and John Grishim is amazing. I've read every book he's ever written including his latest--The Last Juror. Do yourself a favor--read Grishim's books before watching the movies based on them. Other goodies--The Client, A Time to Kill, The Chamber, Pelican Brief, The Partner, and The Firm.
