Tour de France
Every year I look forward to following the yellow jersey in the Tour de France. It’s amazing to watch the strategy and teamwork that goes into a 3 week bike race. I think it may be the most difficult event to complete in sports. 20 grueling stages up and down mountains, through wind and rain, ditching fans standing in the road. (...)

Dark Fury - The Chronicles of Riddick
Dark Fury is a short animated film, explaining what happens in between Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick. It was about an hour long I think, but well worth the time to watch. The story begins with Riddick flying through space, where Pitch Black left off. The spaceship gets picked up by a bounty hunter who “collects” specimens like Riddick because she views them as art. (...)

Pitch Black
Vin Diesel is a bad ass! This is one of his best movies if you ask me. He plays the part of Riddick, a criminal who has eyes that have been glazed, making it difficult for him to see in the light, but easy in the dark. A group of space travelers crash onto an unknown planet. Soon after they gather themselves, the find out that the planet has 3 suns. Talk about hot! (...)

Swingers
I watched this movie over a week ago and forgot to post about it. Maybe I forgot to post because I hated it so much and wanted to forget about it as soon as possible. In real life I can’t stand people who talk just for the sake of talking. Annoying! Why would anyone want to watch a movie with a character like this? (...)
Lack Of Posts
I know I haven’t been posting much lately, but I haven’t felt the creativity or had any big inspirations. I’ve been busy cleaning the house, biking, hanging out with friends, golfing, and of course working. Today I had my oil changed and found out that I need new front tires. This weekend I’m heading up to Rogers City for the long weekend (we have the 5th off). (...)

Update On Changes
Back on the 1st of the year, I set some goals for 2004. I just wanted to bring it back up and give some updates on how things are going… Get a new job in the area of programming. -I had the job at SVSU all lined up, but then got screwed. This is still in the plans for my near future. Cut down on my sarcasm. (...)

The Tennis Scoring System
What’s up the the tennis scoring system? You can have Love, 15, 30, 40, and then win a game. You have to win so many games to win a set. If that isn’t enough, you have to win so many sets before winning the match. When you finally win the match, that means you’ve won the game…I mean match. Confused? Not suprising. (...)

Is Midnight AM Or PM?
The power went out in my house at some point yesterday so when I got home from work all of the clocks were blinking and my computer was off. Not a big deal. Right? Wrong! I didn’t get around to setting my alarm clock until after midnight because I didn’t have a need to use it until I was setting the alarm. (...)

Workin’ It
Today was one of the best days at work that I’ve had in a long time. It flew by because of this, so that was an added bonus. About 2 months ago I was assigned the task of HEAT Administrator for our Help Desk. No added pay or job title, just another responsibility. HEAT is our call logging system, which communicates with an SQL server as the back-end. (...)

Site Tweaks
I’ve made a few modifications to the site. The photos section is now powered by Pictorialis II as promised. The basics are there, but I need to modify the layout some more to make it look how I want. I really like the software though. Awesome stuff Mark! I’ve also modified the way Link It posts show up on the main page of the blog. They were taking up too much space. (...)

Oh, We’re At Your House

Is Photo Matt Gone For Good?
I sure hope not. Matt introduced me to a whole new world when I stumbled across his site back in October-November. He suggested WordPress for use with my new blog and the rest is history. I’ve learned CSS, XHTML, and PHP. I’ve tried to conform to web standards as much as I can. To say the least…Matt has had a great influence on me, which has provided many hours of enjoyment. (...)

Playing Poker With Phil Hellmuth
Yes, that’s me at a .25/.50 cent table (Limit Texas Hold’em) with professional poker player Phil Hellmuth on UltimateBet. It was pretty sweet! I even took his ass on one hand so now I can say I went up against one of the best poker players in the world and beat him. I had aces the hole and he had tens. I raised pre-flop, he re-raised, and I capped it at four bets. (...)

Luck The Fakers
I heard it would be a sweep by the Lakers. I heard it would be Lakers in 5, 6, or 7. I never heard once that it would be the Pistons winning the NBA Championship. I believed in Detroit and they came through. It was the Pistons who had the sweep, if it weren’t for a miracle shot by Kobe to put game 2 into overtime, which the Lakers ended up winning. (...)

The Game I Love?
Golf. One minute you love it and the next you wish you’d never played. One minute you hit a shot like Tiger Woods and the next you feel like you’ve never swung a club. For the past 3-4 summers I’ve been golfing 2, 3, sometimes even 4 times a week and I’ve loved every minute of it. This year is different for some reason. (...)

12 Putts
Everything was dropping in the cup tonight. 6 one-putts and 3 two-putts. 7 bogeys and 2 pars. Overall, it turned out to be a good round with a 42. I only hit one GIR so I really needed the putting to save my score. The green that I did hit was a par 3, but 40-50 feet from the hole. The putt slid by on the left side by no more than an inch and rolled 3 inches past the hole for a gimme par. (...)

Digital Fortress
Another great one by Dan Brown, but ranks 3rd of the three I’ve read so far. This one is a thriller based around the Cryptology department of the NSA. Deflated
First day out in the woods with the bike and I get a flat tired halfway through the trail..what luck :!: it was about a 2 mile hike back to the car, so I tried to run most of it, but it’s not all that easy while trying to steer a bike on your side. It didn’t help that it was over 90 degrees outside either. (...)
