Do Steroids Make A Difference?

I saw this at ESPN today and thought it was interesting. With the new MLB steroid policy, power numbers have continued to increase.

I dont think steriods help a hole lot with power numbers. They may make the homeruns go further, but they dont help the players hit the ball.

As a fan who’s been watching the whole season, it seems like the umpires are slowly reverting back to the smaller strike zone. That makes a huge difference, and the power numbers could be attibuted in part to that.

As if the strike zone isn’t small enough in baseball!

yes they do make a difference. i read that by taking steriods it can help you hit 50 percent more home runs by increasing the muscle by only 10 percent. By putting on 10 percent more muscle you can swing 5 times faster which increasing the balls speed by 4 percent as soon as it leaves the bat. “Adding to this speed you get a 50 percent more chance to get a home run” said by Roger Tobin of Tufts University in Boston.
