Favorite Flicks
Recently I was asked what my favorite movies are. That’s a tough question to answer because each movie fits into its own category. It’s hard to say that a sports movie is better than one with action or vice versa. Here are my favorite flicks of all time and the ones from my DVD collection that I pick to watch most often. (...)

Hail To The Victors
The Michigan Wolverines hosted the Michigan State Spartans yesterday in the state’s greatest football rivalry. It was the greatest Michigan games I’ve ever watched. The team with the greatest fight song and most recognizable helmets in football came out on top 45-37 in a thrilling 3 OT game. MSU jumped out to the early 7-0 lead on a 72 yard TD run and went into halftime leading 17-0. (...)

WordPress Comment SPAM Plugins
I’m now using two plugins to help me combat comment SPAM. The first is Kitten’s Spam Words, which gives you an easy way to delete comments and mark them as spam at the same time. This helps to create a list of comment spam words in WordPress so that further comments will automatically be held for moderation. The second plugin is Mark Ghosh’s Three Strikes Spam Protection. SPAM Comments
After some recent flooding of SPAM comments on all of my blogs I’ve started to take some preventive measures. I have much mor work to do, I’ve started flagging a few things. In the future, if you notice that when you comment it doesn’t show up right away, you’ve probably used a word or something I have flagged and I’ll approve your comment as soon as I can. (...)

Tim McCarver vs. John Madden
I’m having a hard time deciding which announcer gets on my nerves more. Tim McCarver “I got my ’splitter’ and my ‘plate’ mixed up and kind of called it a ’splate.’ It’s a new word I made up.” “A walk is as good as a home run.” “If the double play is a pitcher’s best friend, what is a fielder’s choice? (...)

Star Wars Battlefront
After all of the hype I had heard/read about Star Wars Battlefront, I’m very disappointed. The game is pretty weak IMHO. All you do is run around shooting the enemy and try not to shoot the dumbasses on your team who keep running in your line of fire. And then you do it again. And again. What kind of a Star Wars game doesn’t let you use THE FORCE or a lightsaber? (...)

The Day After Tomorrow
Some of the commercials on TV for The Day After Tomorrow had parts that made me want to see the movie and parts that made it look too much out of this world. I decided to watch the movie anyway. I thought it was pretty good, so I’m glad I did. The basic idea behind the movie is a change in the North Atlantic current which sends the Earth’s climate into a machine change. (...)

Atari vs. Mac

Biggest Choke Ever!
I’m never been a baseball fan, but I had to stay up tonight and watch the New York Yankees lose to the Boston Red Sox after being up 3-0 in the series. Never has a team went up 3-0 in the ALCS and then lost the next three games. The Yankees did. Never has a team lost a series after being up 3-0. The Yankees did. Yankee hater I am. (...)

Vote No On Proposal Link Exchange
Since launching the Poker Chip Tricks site, I’ve been getting numerous requests to exchange links. I’ve even gotten a few for this site recently. My answer is always the same, “I don’t do link exchanges.” I think link exchanges polute the web. I will never link to a site just because they link to one of mine. (...)

NCAA Basketball Top 25
ESPN.com has 4 ACC teams ranked in their preseason top 10 and Duke in the next group at #14. Think the ACC doesn’t dominate college basketball? Think again. I was disappointed when Luol Deng went pro and one of the top high school players in the country decided to pass up Duke for the NBA, but they still have a good nucleus of talent. J.J. (...)

October Sucks
October has to be the worst month of the year. At least in Michigan it is. It’s raining every fucking day. The sun never comes out. It’s always cloudy. Mornings are foggy. There are leaves blowing around everywhere. All of this puts people in a bad mood, including me. Most of the time I don’t even feel like leaving the house, except to buy food and supplies. (...)

Voting
I don’t vote because I don’t pay attention to the issues. Simple as that. I’m not going to waste my vote on something I don’t know about. It’s not that I don’t care about the elections, laws, and all of the political hoopla; I just don’t feel like taking the time to read about the candidates, watch the debates, or get involved. (...)

Ads With BannerBoxes
I’ve been using Google Ads for 5 or 6 months and they’ve been doing very well, but I’ve decided to try out a new ad service which looks promising. Down Goes Vader
Say it with me in your best Howard Cosell voice, “Down goes Vader! Down goes Vader! Down goes Vader!” I just couldn’t resist that intro. Over the past 26 hours I watched the Star Wars Trilogy. Lil Sis
Heather came down for a visit yesterday. She had to go to a class for her student teaching today so she drove down after school and spent the night. I figured cooking her dinner was the least I could do after all of the cooking she did for me during the two years we lived together. (...)
Google’s Gears
Is Google broken? I’ve been snooping around the Internet today looking up things about Google and their ranking system. Why? Good Tequila
Yesterday my boys Tom and Jere came up for a visit. After grabbing some lunch, our first stop was the party store from some liquor. Jere and I decided to make some margaritas, so I picked up some 1800 Tequila. You just can’t go wrong getting the good stuff. It makes the margaritas so much better.
