Wireless Mouse on the Fritz

Published on Thursday, July 28th, 2005 at 10:02pm.

Almost every night lately my wireless mouse goes nuts. The optical light or whatever you call it starts blinking non-stop, which makes the cursor jump across the screen whenever I try to do something. It’s as if it’s getting a constant signal from something else in the area. Anyone have any ideas? (...)

nofollow is BAD for the Internet

If you run a WordPress site, I highly suggest installing the Dofollow plugin. If you don’t, you’re hurting the legimate commenters on your site. (...)

Keep Me Signed In Damnit!

Published on Wednesday, July 27th, 2005 at 12:02pm.

I wouldn’t expect something like this from eBay, but their checkbox doesn’t work worth a shit. I’m prompted to enter my username and password at both eBay and Half more times than I care to count. (...)

Google Adsense Flickering Fix

Published on Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 at 6:36pm.

I don’t know how long I’ve been bothered by the Firefox problem with Google Adsense ad blocks. I’m sure you know what I’m referring to. While a web page is loading all you can see are Google ads flickering across the page. Or you’re on a site and when you move the mouse over a link, the Google ads flicker. It’s rather annoying. (...)

Gmail and IE Disagree

Accessing Gmail with IE has been pretty slow lately. It appears as if Google hates Internet Exploder just as much as the rest of us. (...)

Review: Million Dollar Baby

Published on Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 at 12:41pm.

One of the best movies I’ve seen in quite some time. Million Dollar Baby deserves every award it won last year. Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, and Hilary Swank put on one hell of a performance for this one. The movie teaches a great lesson about life…even when it appears as if we’ve lost, sometimes we’ve achieved our wildest dreams. (...)

Review: Deception Point

Published on Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 at 12:20pm.

Dan Brown wrote another great book with Deception Point. I couldn’t put the book down once I started reading it and ended up finished all 550+ pages in a few days. That’s pretty good for me. I’d have to say that this is my second favorite (to The Da Vinci Code) book by Brown. (...)

Published on Sunday, July 24th, 2005 at 5:42pm.

It looks like the server move is complete. MDV, 2HC, and PCT are all hosted at DreamHost now. Please let me know if you notice anything behaving badly. I’m extremely happy with DreamHost so far. I’ll post more about my experience later. 2HC has a new design, which I whipped up this morning. Updates to PCT will be coming soon as well. (...)

7 Times

Published on Sunday, July 24th, 2005 at 12:23pm.

I just finished watching Lance Armstrong win his 7th Tour de France in a row. In my opinion, the TdF is the most difficult sporting competition in the world and Armstrong is the greatest athlete of our time. Winning this race seven times in a row was unthinkable. Lance did it after surviving cancer, which makes it even more remarkable. It is quite possibly the greatest sporting record of all-time. (...)

Review: First Strike (Halo)

Published on Wednesday, July 20th, 2005 at 5:37pm.

This book is the 3rd in the series and should be an enjoyable read for any Halo fan. First Strike tells the story that leads up the action experienced while playing the video game Halo 2. Master Chief is the main character as you might expect, but there are other Spartans as well as Cortana and a few others from the first two books. (...)

Not Wearing Yellow Anymore

Published on Wednesday, July 20th, 2005 at 9:12am.

Yesterday I took off my LiveSTRONG band for the first time in over a year. I’ve shown my support and did my time. The band was starting to annoy me a bit, so I decided to take it off and won’t be wearing it anymore. I managed to shoot a 39 last night golfing, which is my best round of the year. Coincidence? Debt Free-er

Published on Tuesday, July 12th, 2005 at 1:08pm.

Each year at the beginning of July, the interest rate can change on my student loans. For the past few years that rate has dropped, but this year it reached a high point by increasing nearly 2%. When I found this out over the weekend I was pissed. I’d show them! I scheduled a payment for over $5K that should go through today. Buh-bye student loans! (...)

Review: Fantastic Four

Published on Sunday, July 10th, 2005 at 8:16am.

The Fantastic Four was a surprisingly good movie. Or maybe I just enjoyed watching Jessica Alba a little too much. It’s another Marvel movie, but this one isn’t too cheesy. The acting, action, special effects, and story are all pretty good. There are a couple of sub stories to keep it all enteresting. One part of the movie I do have to complain about is the ending. Procrastination Quotes

Procrastination is the fear of success… Because success is heavy, it carries a responsibility with it, it is much easier to procrastinate and live on the “someday I’ll” philosophy. Review: Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Published on Wednesday, July 6th, 2005 at 12:33pm.

Definitely one of the top movies of the summer. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were the perfect choices for Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I couldn’t imagine anyone else in Hollywood being able to do a better job. They’ve always been two of my favorite stars and this movie was a great showing of their talent. They worked extremely well together in this film. (...)

Let There Be Light

Published on Wednesday, July 6th, 2005 at 12:25pm.

Last night a 10 minute storm hit Saginaw and I was without power for 10 hours! Unreal. In today’s day of technology, you’d think the power companies would have their grids figured out so that areas aren’t without electricity for such a long period of time. I can’t imagine my life without technology and the electricity needed for it. It was one boring night to say the least. (...)
