Send Text Messages to Email
It baffles me how few people realize you can send a text message from your cell phone directly to your email address. Instead of typing in a phone number, just enter the email address. I use this nifty little feature all the time to send myself reminders or to get photos off of my phone. (...)

Spell rhythm
I can never figure out how to spell the word rhythm. Where are all the vowels? All we get is a single ‘y’ in there. I thought ‘y’ was a “sometimes” vowel. No wonder I’m clueless when I type it out. (...)

I Need Time for a Redesign
I didn’t mean for that post title to rhyme, but it did and I’m not changing it. I’ve wanted to pump out a redesign of MDV for a long time now. The homepage will get a drastic change with areas asides (what I call quickies here), recent full posts, flickr photos, links, menu, and who knows what else. (...)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles looks amazing! I loved the cartoon in my younger days. (...)

Microsoft’s Zune Project
The big news from Microsoft today was the confirmation of the Zune project. Just do a few searches and you’ll find plenty of information. I’m not writing about it to give any information or what it’s about. All I want to say is, don’t count them out. Can Microsoft create a real competitor for Apple’s iPod? Only time will tell. (...)

Review: Gillette Fusion Power
On the recommendation of my friend Casey I bought the Gillette Fusion Power about a month ago. This razor is a work of art. Shaving has always been one of my least favorite things to do, but the Fusion Power is literally “changing the face of shaving.” Your first reaction might be that five blades is a bit of overkill, but it feels great on your skin. (...)

Tigers for Real?
Somebody pinch me. Our Detroit Tigers beat the defending Champion Chicago White Sox tonight to go up 5 1/2 games in the division. The Tigers’ records is 64-31. That’s 33 games over .500 for you math majors. Unbelievable! (...)

Views of Zidane
I need to stop posting about soccer, but this one is too good to pass up. Zidane as seen by the world. (...)

First Trip to Las Vegas
I made my first trip to Las Vegas from Friday, June 30, 2006 to Wednesday, July 5, 2006. Following are links to the trip report summaries that I just finished up. Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Final Thoughts (...)

Free DNS from OpenDNS
I’m testing out OpenDNS here at work on my main computer. I’ll try out any service to replace something on our network. In testing the past couple of minutes some web pages seem to load faster and some slower. I’ll also be setting it up at home to see how it performs. Time will tell. (via Matt) (...)

Review: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
I enjoyed the original The Fast and the Furious, but thought 2 Fast 2 Furious was a bit far-fetched, especially the end scene with the boat landing on the yacht. So going into the third movie, Tokyo Drift, I wasn’t sure what to expect, which is exactly the reason I waited until the movie hit the cheap seats and I could see it for $2.25. (...)

Review: Superman Returns
I saw Superman Returns on opening night and am finally getting around to a review. The movie was up to my expectations going in. There was a good story and a lot of action. The length of the movie was a bit long and I thought a few parts could have been cut out to make it shorter without losing any of the plot. (...)

Password Sharing
I hate asking people for their passwords and I know how much everyone is warned about giving out their passwords over the phone, but as a support center tech it really is the easiest way to troubleshoot most login problems. You’d be suprised how often people get fat fingers on the keyboard. Of course they swear they’ve typed everything correctly at least 10 times. (...)

No WWW
I posted a couple of months ago about dropping the www from URLs and have been a supporter of it for much longer. All of my sites have been www free for as long as I can remember. The www.xxxx.com URLs will redirect to the one without www. If you’re using WordPress and have been afraid to try out the .htaccess method Matt released the no-www plugin last month. (...)
I Watched the 2006 World Cup Final
I’ll admit I watched the final game of the 2006 World Cup. I was rooting for France to win, but Italy prevailed in the shootout after two scoreless overtime periods. I only missed a minute here and there throughout the entire game as I ran to another room or did a quick channel change. At least now I can positively say I’ll never be a soccer fan. (...)

Hitting the Wall
Back in my younger days I ran quite a bit. I might have even enjoyed it once in awhile. During 8th grade and my freshmen year of high school I ran cross country. We had some fun during practices, but I can’t really say that I enjoyed the running aspect of the sport. I ran the distance events during my freshmen year of high school and just hated it. (...)

Before I Die
A few months ago I started a list of things I wanted to do before I die. I never got around to publishing it and ended up completing one of the items (eagle a par 4) about a month ago. I just hit the publish button on the page. Before I Die… What are some of the things on your list? If you have a web site, create your own page and link back here for others to track back to you. (...)

Busy Busy
New postings have been few and far between here at MDV for the past few months and especially during the last month. I’ve been extremely busy and having a lot of fun. The big secret (I sold pokerchiptricks.com) is out, went to Cedar Point, bought a black MacBook, have golfed a ton this summer, and just recently took a 5-night trip to Las Vegas. (...)
The Big Secret
Over the past couple of months I had mentioned a big secret I was planning to let out of the bag. Well, the announcement is nearly a month after the deal was completed, but it’s out. I sold pokerchiptricks.com. The whole deal was really stressing me out towards the end and I can now say that I hate dealing with lawyers. Head over to the poker blog for more details. (...)
