Hitting the Wall
Back in my younger days I ran quite a bit. I might have even enjoyed it once in awhile. During 8th grade and my freshmen year of high school I ran cross country. We had some fun during practices, but I can’t really say that I enjoyed the running aspect of the sport. I ran the distance events during my freshmen year of high school and just hated it. (...)

Rack It Up
Just ordered a new bike rack to use with the hitch on my TrailBlazer. I decided to go with the Thule 996 - Expressway from Rack Attack which has some good deals right now. I can’t wait to get out on my bike again! (...)
Getting Ready
The weather might not be cooperating, but I’m ready for summer. I can’t wait to get out on my bike and out on the golf course. Today I dropped my bike off at the shop for a tune-up and looked at a new bike rack to use with my hitch. (...)

Every Second Counts
As I’ve said before, he is the greatest American story of our lifetime. After reading his book you get an understanding of what makes him tick. He doesn’t have anything to lose, so he gives everything he’s got in everything he does. He faced death, battled it head-on, and kicked it’s ass! Everything after that is a bonus. (...)

Lately…
I’ve had quite a few things going on. Somehow, things all happen at once. Today I did a little work on my new dedicated server, but I still need to wait for a few domains to transfer over to 1&1, where I’ve decided to keep all the domain registrations. (...)
Ever Kiss A Bee?
I did today, tongue and everything! I was riding the bike and a big bug flew in my mouth. It took a couple of seconds to get where I could spit it out. You want to talk about gross! Shortly after, I realized the stinging sensation on my tongue. The bee wasn’t in there long, but it made good use of it’s time. (...)

Tour de France
Every year I look forward to following the yellow jersey in the Tour de France. It’s amazing to watch the strategy and teamwork that goes into a 3 week bike race. I think it may be the most difficult event to complete in sports. 20 grueling stages up and down mountains, through wind and rain, ditching fans standing in the road. (...)

Workin’ It
Today was one of the best days at work that I’ve had in a long time. It flew by because of this, so that was an added bonus. About 2 months ago I was assigned the task of HEAT Administrator for our Help Desk. No added pay or job title, just another responsibility. HEAT is our call logging system, which communicates with an SQL server as the back-end. (...)
MTB Crash
I love mountain biking, but “full contact sport” takes on a whole new meaning when you bite the dust. I took a few crash photos for evidence. The bike seems to have survived without any damage. If anything, it now has character! (...)
Deflated
First day out in the woods with the bike and I get a flat tired halfway through the trail..what luck :!: it was about a 2 mile hike back to the car, so I tried to run most of it, but it’s not all that easy while trying to steer a bike on your side. It didn’t help that it was over 90 degrees outside either. (...)
The Laziness Ends
You’re looking at my latest purchase. A Trek 4100 Mountain Bike. I’ve been trying to get myself to start running several times a week, but it just wasn’t happening. This bike will be the cure for my laziness. Mo and I went out to the Saginaw Valley Rail Trail and rode 11 or 12 miles. What a great workout! I’m dreading how my legs and back will feel tomorrow.
