Goodbye Joey

Published on Friday, March 17th, 2006 at 9:19am.

The Detroit Lions signed quarterbacks Jon Kitna and Josh McCown this week, which should mean they’ll be shipping Joey Harrington elsewhere. Finally some new coaches who can see where some of the problems start with this team. (...)

A Sporting Thanksgiving

Published on Thursday, December 1st, 2005 at 12:02pm.

As posted previously, I attended a few professional sports events over the Thanksgiving holiday. Last Wednesday (Nov. 23) my parents left Rogers City bright and early. I’m not sure why they came down so early, but I wasn’t too happy that they interrupted my Xbox 360 time since I had just hooked it up the night before. (...)

Wings, Lions, and Pistons

Published on Wednesday, November 9th, 2005 at 12:16pm.

My Dad, brother, and I were planning on getting some tickets for the Lions Thanksgiving game this year, so I’ve been keeping an eye on eBay. It looked like it was going to be at least $300 for 3 tickets to the game, and those aren’t even for the good seats. Yesterday I found a dream come true. There was an auction selling 3 tickets to the Detroit Red Wings vs. (...)

Making Moves

Published on Sunday, March 13th, 2005 at 7:24pm.

The Detroit Lions have been busy working the free agent market. Yesterday they signed Jeff Garcia to a one-year deal yesterday and earlier in the week they signed Marcus Pollard and Kenoy Kennedy to contracts. This is definitely going to be a playoff year. (...)

New Faces in Detroit?

Published on Tuesday, March 1st, 2005 at 10:32am.

Jeff Garcia and Kurt Warner have their eye on the Detroit Lions. Garcia would be a nice pickup, but I hope the Lions steer clear of Warner. (...)

Roaring Road Lions

Published on Sunday, October 24th, 2004 at 4:45pm.

The Detroit Lions are 3-0 on the road this year after going two full seasons without a single win away from home. Too bad they’re only 1-2 at home. (...)

The Running Game

Undefeated Lions

Published on Monday, September 20th, 2004 at 9:39am.

The Detroit Lions have started the NFL season 2-0! I said before the season that an 8-8 record would be a good turn around and I’m sticking to it. It really hurt them when Charles Rogers went out for the season again, but Roy Williams is stepping up. Keep your eye on this team…the next few years look very promising. (...)

Detroit Lions - 2004 NFL Draft

Published on Sunday, April 25th, 2004 at 10:10am.

As I settled into my chair yesterday at noon I wondered how the Lions would fuck up the 2004 NFL Draft. They had the #6 pick and could possible get TE Kellen Winslow or S Sean Taylor (both from Miami) if they were still available. Taylor was picked just before them at #5, so I thought Winslow was the lock pick when the Lions were put on the clock. (...)

Mighty Lions

Published on Monday, December 22nd, 2003 at 8:25am.

Yesterday the Detroit Lions set the NFL record for consecutive road losses with their 24th in a row. I looked at the box score and they had a total of 106 yards on offense! These guys are supposed to be professions? The best in the world at playing football? I’ll continue to be a fan, but holy shit do they suck! (...)
