Transforming Monday
My roommates and I bought tickets for tomorrow’s showing of Transformers. Tomorrow as in Monday, July 2nd. Ocean’s 13
I really enjoyed Ocean’s Eleven when it came out and thought Ocean’s Twelve was good too. So when I saw Ocean’s 13 was next in line I knew I’d have to see it. Went last night with Tom because it was too damn hot to do anything else around the house or outside. We both enjoyed the movie and I’ll add it to my DVD collection when it comes out. (...)

I went to see 300 at an IMAX the week it came out. We drove from Saginaw all the way to Lansing one night after work, which put the total drive time around 3 hours. That’s a lot of driving to see a movie when I could have went 2 miles down the road from my house. Well…it was well worth it! 300 is one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen, if not the greatest. Review: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
I enjoyed the original The Fast and the Furious, but thought 2 Fast 2 Furious was a bit far-fetched, especially the end scene with the boat landing on the yacht. I really liked The Ring when it came out in theaters, but The Ring Two is horrible. The story gets all twisted and doesn’t make much sense. This is a case where the producers should have stopped after one film. For a what was supposed to be a scary movie, TR2 was a letdown. Review: Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle
I’m not the biggest fan on stupid comedy movies, but Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle was pretty good. John Cho and Kal Penn worked well together to make this film. The entire film revolves around the characters of Harold and Kumar. One night after getting stoned, they get the munchies. Review: Million Dollar Baby
One of the best movies I’ve seen in quite some time. Million Dollar Baby deserves every award it won last year. Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, and Hilary Swank put on one hell of a performance for this one. Definitely one of the top movies of the summer. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were the perfect choices for Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I couldn’t imagine anyone else in Hollywood being able to do a better job. They’ve always been two of my favorite stars and this movie was a great showing of their talent. Meet the Parents was a great movie, but Meet the Fockers was disappointing. The movie had it’s moments, but it wasn’t nearly as good as the first film. Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, and Barbra Streisand all did an excellent job with their parts in the movie. My issue was with the writing of the script. I borrowed this movie from my brother, not knowing what to expect. Bandits was released in 2001 and I didn’t remember seeing the previews for it. Saw looked like a neat idea for a movie when I saw the previews, so I went to see it last night. I thought it was pretty good. It’s the type of movie with a lot of plot twists, which I always like. Kill Bill: Volume 2
The follow up to Volume 1 and the end of the Kill Bill series. I liked the first movie much better and for quite a few reasons. Volume 2 was missing all of the fight scenes that made Volume 1 stand out. There were a few short action sequences, but only enough to wet your appetite. The Hunted
I always enjoy this type of movie. I think it comes from the child inside of me. As a kid I always wanted to sneak around like the highly trained government professionals. Moving around inside a room without letting anyone else know you are there has got to be one of the coolest tricks in the book. Tommy Lee Jones and Benicio Del Toro had the leading roles and they did not disappoint. (...)

Charlize Theron did an amazing job in the movie. After watching it, I can see why she won Best Actress. She completely transformed herself into the character. I don’t know how someone so gorgeous can put on that kind of weight just for a movie, but she did it. Monster is based on a true story, and that always adds a little extra to a plot. (...)

Went tonight with Hater to see it. Great movie! A few too many previews, but it didn’t take away from the movie. I remember seeing the movie trailers on TV and thinking, “Tom Cruise as a samurai!” I thought the movie was going to be a joke, but I was wrong. It was a really good movie. I was pleasantly suprised by how good this movie is. I wasn’t looking for much after the previews I’ve seen, but I should have known better for a Quentin Tarantino film. Cabin Fever
Horrible. Just horrible! What a waste of an hour and a half. I would never watch this movie again. The best (and only good) part of the movie was getting to see Cerina Vincent’s tits a few times. Cold Creek Manor
Pretty good movie. From what I remember in previews I thought this was supposed to be a freaky-scary movie. There were some parts where I gripped my seat a bit, but it doesn’t totally fit into that genre of movies. The Matrix Revolutions
Great movie! The final chapter (or is it?) in the Matrix series comes to an end in The Matrix Revolutions. It’s nice to see the end of the story, but it sucks knowing I can’t look forward to any more of the movies. A lot of people didn’t like how it ended…you can’t please everyone. Pavement
I had never heard of this movie before and it didn’t take long to figure out why. It was pretty cheesy, not to mention the fact that the acting was horrible. Different. One word that describes this movie is different. It is kind of a ghost story that flips the roles of patient and psychologist on the main character, played by Halle Berry. Berry did a wonderful job playing the part of the beautiful psychologist turned crazy murderer. There were two ends to the spectrum and she meshed them together well. (...)
Runaway Jury
Watched this movie last night on the new TV and was pretty happy with it. It was an interesting plot line with a few twists and turns along the way. I thought Gene Hackman, John Cusack, Dustin Hoffman, and Rachel Weisz did a great job with this movie. I didn’t recognize Weisz from any other movies, but she did well in this one. Miracle

I had mixed feelings when I saw previews for Underworld. Sometimes the vampire movies are good and sometimes they are horrible, but this one turned out to be OK. Kate Beckinsale did a good job as the lead roll, playing the vampire caught up in the middle of a war between the vampire and werewolf races. She falls in love with a werewolf, which causes quite a controversy in the vampire coven. (...)

Special Weapons and Tactics. There were plenty of each in this movie. It was great when I saw it in the theater this summer and great again watching the DVD.
