I started on this design over a year ago and hadn’t touched it in over a year until Friday night. Twitter Tools Stopped Working
I used Twitter Tools to scrape my tweets and post them here daily. Obviously it stopped working because the last update was October 9th. Not sure what happened, but now that I have things setup on the new computer, maybe the sites will get some much needed love this weekend. (...)

Launching NICKED Up
I just launched NICKED Up, which will be a type of “home base” for the network of blogs that I run. For full details visit the first post at the new site, titled This is NICKED Up. I’ve closed comments on this post at MDV in order to keep all comments over there. (...)

It looks like the server move is complete. MDV, 2HC, and PCT are all hosted at DreamHost now. Please let me know if you notice anything behaving badly. I’m extremely happy with DreamHost so far. I’ll post more about my experience later. 2HC has a new design, which I whipped up this morning. Updates to PCT will be coming soon as well. (...)

More WP Upgrades
Last night I helped upgrade Hamoudy to WP 1.5 and today I upgraded Poker Chip Tricks. I had been dreading the upgrade to PCT because off the heavy customization I had done to the design, but with the new theme system in WordPress, it was a piece of cake. (...)

Tag, You’re It!
Since I started using Flickr earlier this month, I’ve falling in love with tags. Using categories in WordPress has always been a burden, so made the move to rid the site of them. Using tags is much better way to classify things in my opinion. You can view a heat map or full list of the tags used here at MDV. (...)

Forward
I’m pretty happy with the way the design turned out. I call it Forward because of it’s relation to my life right now. We can usually tell what is over our heads and what is under our feet, but we don’t always know what’s right in front of us. For instance, just look at the header and footer images. (...)
All New
As you may have noticed, I’m in the process of rolling out the new MtDewVirus design. Please excuse the small piles of dust here and there as I clean a few things up. Also note that I haven’t even started to work on the Photos section of the site. Much more to come in the next 24 hours! (...)
What Happened To MtDewVirus?
As you may have noticed, the look has changed. Matt asked if I’d test out the first build of WordPress 1.5 and I couldn’t say no. I haven’t had the chance to give everything a test run, but I’ve noticed some great changes already. (...)

I’ve been trying to think of the future of MtDewVirus.com. What do I want from it? Why do I have the site? A redesign has been in the plans and is getting closer to being started. I promise. Dew Traffic
While looking through the logs here at MtDewVirus, I’ve found that my traffic has dropped off considerably. I guess it shouldn’t be suprising since I haven’t been reading many other blogs, haven’t been commenting, and I don’t link to many other blogs. My referrer logs are jammed with bogus sites and sites related to poker. (...)

Change Of Scenery
MtDewVirus realy needs a change of scenery…I just haven’t wanted to spend the time on a new design though. WordPress 1.5 has entered the gamma stage, so it shouldn’t be long before the final release. Maybe that’s when I’ll work on some changes around here since there are some new features that I’ve planned to take advantage of for quite some time. (...)

Copy….Right?
A few months ago I found a site that had copied some of my content word for word. Well, yesterday, I found a few auctions on Ebay where a guy was using several of images from Poker Chip Tricks in order to sell what looked like a list of links to poker sites around the Internet. I turned him in to Ebay and also sent him a message. He wrote me back… Cool your jets. (...)

WordPress Comment SPAM Plugins
I’m now using two plugins to help me combat comment SPAM. The first is Kitten’s Spam Words, which gives you an easy way to delete comments and mark them as spam at the same time. This helps to create a list of comment spam words in WordPress so that further comments will automatically be held for moderation. The second plugin is Mark Ghosh’s Three Strikes Spam Protection. SPAM Comments
After some recent flooding of SPAM comments on all of my blogs I’ve started to take some preventive measures. I have much mor work to do, I’ve started flagging a few things. Ads With BannerBoxes
I’ve been using Google Ads for 5 or 6 months and they’ve been doing very well, but I’ve decided to try out a new ad service which looks promising. I’ve rearranged a few things on the site. The tabbed sidebar has been killed. A few days ago, I promised to start working on pokerchiptricks.com. I’ve started, but haven’t accomplished much. I’ve created a simple header graphic and am playing around with a few colors. Does Hard Work Pay Someone Else Off?
What do you do when someone steals your content, displaying it on their site as if they wrote it? I’ve sent 2 messages to the email addresses on this site several times and they are not responding. A Busy Week Means A Quiet Week
Just a warning that I have a very busy week ahead. On Friday I’m taking a couple of Microsoft certification tests, so all of my free time will be spent studying. Dedicated Server Hosting
Does anyone know of a good company to get a dedicated server to host my sites? I have some new projects in the works and shared hosting just won’t cut it anymore. 1&1 has some good pricing on dedicated servers, but I have a free account through them and I hate their Control Panel and the fact that I need they use different usernames for everything. I’ve made a few modifications to the site. The photos section is now powered by Pictorialis II as promised. The basics are there, but I need to modify the layout some more to make it look how I want. I Need A New Favicon
Yes, a favicon. What is it? The short answer: it’s the little image that appears next to the URL in the address bar of your browser. Photos Are Back
The Photos section of the site is back. It needs a lot of work, but at least it’s there again. Over the next week I’ll be making a lot more tweaks to the design of the site. If you notice anything that looks funny or out of place, leave a comment so I can check it out. The Photos Are Missing
They weren’t kidnapped, I just got fed up with using Gallery to manage my photos, so I ditched it. I’ve found something that looks pretty sweet and should be a nice replacement. Time For A Design Change
It’s been over 6 months since I’ve been running my blog, which also means 6 months for the design. It’s time for a change! Site Changes
Over the past few days you may have noticed a few changes to the site. I removed the Shout Outs from the sidebar. I was the only one ever shouting so I figured it wouldn’t be missed. Backup!
Never underestimate the importance of a backup! I ran some upgrades to WordPress and all of my dates and times got screwed. If I would have backed up right before the upgrade (like I normally do) I would have saved a lot of time. (...)
