Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition and Xbox 360

Published on Sunday, October 15th, 2006 at 3:20pm.

Over the past few days I installed Windows Media Center Edition on my PC and configured it to connect to my Xbox 360. Let me tell you, this is one slick system for streaming media to your TV. The Xbox 360 works as an extender for the Media Center and can be set to access any of the pictures, music, or videos you have on your computer. (...)

Mac mini

Published on Wednesday, January 12th, 2005 at 9:34pm.

At $500, I think it’s time to start thinking about trying a Mac mini. People have been ranting and raving to me for the last year or two that I need a Mac. At this price for such a tiny little thing, I don’t know if I could pass it up. Although I think the $500 is a bit deceiving. I’d need to get a wireless card and probably a bump in RAM at the least. (...)

Atari vs. Mac

Published on Saturday, October 23rd, 2004 at 10:56am.

VS. Can someone please explain the difference between these two devices? Both allow you to move a cursor or object in all directions on your screen and both have one button. Besides the obvious color, shape, and size differences, I think these two devices are the same. Please convince me otherwise… (...)

VOIP

Published on Monday, September 20th, 2004 at 3:29pm.

VOIP, it’s the greatest thing on earth. Someone accidentally cut a line of fiber somewhere on campus today so about about 800 students are left without Internet access, but they can’t call us because their phones don’t work either. It’s great! 5 students have actually been smart enough to realize that their cell phones still work though. (...)

All I Can Say Is WOW!!

Published on Sunday, March 28th, 2004 at 9:44am.

My TV is amazing! I’ve never seen a better picture before watching DVDs or playing XBOX. Mo came over last night, I whooped his ass in NBA Live and then we watched a movie. Both my DVD player and the XBOX output an HD signal and the picture is unbelievable. Movies and games have never looked to real. Combine that with my surround sound and it’s better than being in a movie theater. (...)

BIG Purchase!

Published on Thursday, March 25th, 2004 at 8:47pm.

I just made the purchase of my life! I bought a 50″ Grand WEGA LCD rear projection TV (KF-50WE610). Joel over at ABC Warehouse hooked me up with some sweet deals. I got the TV for $2870, which is $430 cheaper than the price at Circuit City, Best Buy, and Sony. I also bought the 5 year extended warranty on it, because on such a big purchase it’s a must. (...)

A New Puter

Published on Thursday, February 5th, 2004 at 12:52pm.

I ordered a new computer today from Dell. They have a pretty sweet deal going on right now for a server. It has a free upgrade from a Celuron processor to a Pentium 4 2.26 GHz, comes with a 40 GB hard drive, and all the basics. It doesn’t come with any software, but I plan to install Linux on it, so that’s not a big deal. (...)

Technology Rules…

Published on Wednesday, February 4th, 2004 at 7:07pm.

…my life. There is no question about it. I do all of my banking and pay most of my bills online. I store all phone numbers in my cell phone. Any addresses I need to remember are stored in my email address book. I schedule all of my appointments on the calendar in my email system. Everyone’s birthday is stored in this calendar as well. (...)
