April SNOW Showers

Published on Saturday, April 7th, 2007 at 8:51am.

Last Sunday was it was 70 and sunny. I was out golfing. It was April Fools Day and the joke was on us. The past few days have brought temperatures in the 20s and snow. I drove up to Rogers City last night and ran into a snow storm with 2 inches of fresh snow. Whatever happened to simply “April showers” to bring the May flowers? (...)

Enjoying the Weather Among Other Things

Published on Friday, April 21st, 2006 at 10:18am.

I’ve been enjoying the weather for the past several weeks which means spending less and less time on the computer. That also means less time for blogging and less updates here as well as my other blogs. I’ve also cut back on my poker playing dramatically which takes away computer time as well. This is all a good thing. (...)

Marching On

Published on Wednesday, March 15th, 2006 at 2:04pm.

I love the month of March for two reasons. March Madness and the coming of warmer Michigan weather. The month of March is heaven for college basketball fans and NCAA bball just happens to be my favorite sport to watch. The teamwork, intensity, atmosphere, and everything about the game draws me in. April Michigan Weather

Published on Saturday, April 23rd, 2005 at 11:06pm.

On Tuesday it was a sunny 85 degrees here in Michigan and and Thursday night I mowed my lawn. Right now it’s in the low 30’s and snowing. Yes…it’s snowing in late April! There’s a Winter Weather Alert in effect through noon Sunday with up to 8 inches expected. Gotta love Michigan weather. (...)

Short Monday

Published on Sunday, February 20th, 2005 at 10:23pm.

Last Monday SVSU didn’t open until noon because of an ice storm. Tomorrow, it’s because of snow. Next Monday might be locusts. Just found this on the SVSU site. (...)

Still Coming Down

Published on Sunday, February 20th, 2005 at 9:52pm.

The snow is still coming down at a rate of an inch/hour. I’d say we’ve gotten about 10 inches in the last 12 hours. Maybe SVSU will close down tomorrow and I won’t have to work. Saginaw Public schools have already been canceled. (...)

Typical Michigan Weather

Published on Sunday, February 20th, 2005 at 6:40pm.

Yesterday the sun was out and there was green grass everywhere. So maybe it was a greenish-brown, but at least you could see grass in everyone’s yard. Our snow had been gone for about a week. This morning when I woke up there was just a little bit of white powder on the ground; a little harmless snow. (...)

Rain Or Snow

Published on Friday, January 14th, 2005 at 12:15am.

You can’t help but love/hate Michigan weather. This morning I woke up to 50+ degree weather. It had been raining for over 24 hours straight, so all of our snow had disappeared, but there was standing water everywhere. This afternoon, the rain turned to snow. Very wet snow. This snow mixed with the water and we now have slush all over. (...)

October Sucks

Published on Sunday, October 17th, 2004 at 2:37pm.

October has to be the worst month of the year. At least in Michigan it is. It’s raining every fucking day. The sun never comes out. It’s always cloudy. Mornings are foggy. There are leaves blowing around everywhere. All of this puts people in a bad mood, including me. Most of the time I don’t even feel like leaving the house, except to buy food and supplies. (...)

Water Logged

Published on Thursday, May 13th, 2004 at 8:16pm.

Golf league was interesting tonight. It was sprinkling at the beginning of the round and wasn’t bad at all for about 4 holes. On the 5th and 6th it really started to come down though! We figured that we were already soaked, so we might as well keep playing, especially since we were scoring well. Three times I had to adjust my swing on the way through because the club would have went flying. (...)

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Published on Sunday, May 9th, 2004 at 9:55am.

I always thought it was “April showers bring May flowers.” It has rained almost every single day in May so far. It helps out the golf season in the long run, but prevents it from really kicking off. Thursday was my first time out and I shot a 49, which wasn’t too bad for not having swung a club yet this year. Then I went out Friday with Jere and Steph and shot a 51. (...)

Heat Wave

Published on Sunday, April 18th, 2004 at 11:37pm.

I’m not ready for the hot weather. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday it was over 70 each day and today it passed 80. Today was especially bad because it was extremely muggy to go along with the heat. (...)

Another Day Off

Published on Wednesday, January 28th, 2004 at 7:24am.

I took that directly from the SVSU website. Yes, we are closed once again because of the storm that came though the past two days. Every time this happens, I love working for a small University more and more. You can’t argue against what in reality is an “unplanned paid vacation” as I’ll call it. (...)

SVSU Campus Closed

Published on Tuesday, January 27th, 2004 at 10:36am.

SVSU is closed again today because of the big storm coming through. I don’t have to work, but still get paid…I love it! We are supposed to get 6-10 inches today, so if that happens I wouldn’t be suprised if we get canceled tomorrow also. Enjoy your day, I know I’m going to enjoy mine! (...)

4 Game Winning Streak

Published on Friday, January 23rd, 2004 at 11:02pm.

Today we finally played a good game in basketball league. We beat a team (by about 14) that we barely lost to in the first half of the season. We really shot well and took good shots. My shot finally came around as I stepped in closer to the basket and made a few drives to the hole. I had at least 20 of our 54 or so points. Felt good to finally drill some shots. (...)

It Begins Today

Published on Tuesday, January 6th, 2004 at 9:19pm.

This post doesn’t really have any overall topic…so excuse the jumbled mess. I said I was going to start getting in shape and it started today. Just got back from our basketball game for Saginaw Township. We won by about 5 points and are now 2-2 for the season. Everyone was pretty rusty from the holiday break, so we’re happy to pull out the win. (...)

1st Snowfall

Published on Tuesday, November 25th, 2003 at 10:23am.

Yesterday marked the first snowfall (at least in Saginaw), and I’ve decided that I’m not ready for it to snow yet. In fact, I’m not sure if I’ll be ready all winter. When I’m ready, I’ll let Mother Nature know. (...)
