Drop the WWW

Published on Thursday, April 27th, 2006 at 7:57am.

Isn’t it time everyone drop the www? Or at least stop requiring it for your site to work. All of my sites work if you type in www.domain.com or simply domain.com. In fact, if you type in the www, I have the .htaccess files set to send a redirect. Try it out…you won’t get to any of my pages and still have the www showing in the address bar. I never type out www. (...)

Google Adsense Flickering Fix

Published on Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 at 6:36pm.

I don’t know how long I’ve been bothered by the Firefox problem with Google Adsense ad blocks. I’m sure you know what I’m referring to. While a web page is loading all you can see are Google ads flickering across the page. Or you’re on a site and when you move the mouse over a link, the Google ads flicker. It’s rather annoying. I’ll post more about my experience later. 2HC has a new design, which I whipped up this morning. Updates to PCT will be coming soon as well. (...)

Forward

Published on Saturday, February 19th, 2005 at 11:38am.

I’m pretty happy with the way the design turned out. I call it Forward because of it’s relation to my life right now. We can usually tell what is over our heads and what is under our feet, but we don’t always know what’s right in front of us. For instance, just look at the header and footer images. (...)

Vote No On Proposal Link Exchange

Published on Wednesday, October 20th, 2004 at 3:21pm.

Since launching the Poker Chip Tricks site, I’ve been getting numerous requests to exchange links. I’ve even gotten a few for this site recently. My answer is always the same, “I don’t do link exchanges.” I think link exchanges polute the web. I will never link to a site just because they link to one of mine. (...)

Through The Portal

Published on Tuesday, September 28th, 2004 at 10:26pm.

I’ve rearranged a few things on the site. The tabbed sidebar has been killed. More than one person has mentioned to me they didn’t like it and to be honest I haven’t been too fond of it for quite some time either. To keep the sidebar from getting too long, the recent comments, popular posts, and stats have been moved to the portal page. (...)

Is Photo Matt Gone For Good?

Published on Friday, June 18th, 2004 at 9:47am.

I sure hope not. Matt introduced me to a whole new world when I stumbled across his site back in October-November. He suggested WordPress for use with my new blog and the rest is history. I’ve learned CSS, XHTML, and PHP. I’ve tried to conform to web standards as much as I can. To say the least…Matt has had a great influence on me, which has provided many hours of enjoyment. (...)

I Need A New Favicon

Published on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2004 at 8:40pm.

If there are any creative/artistic minds out there who would like to create one for me, I’d be grateful! I haven’t been able to think of anything, so now I turn to you. If you have any ideas, let me know. Inspiration! (...)

What I Look For In A Blog

Time For A Design Change

Published on Tuesday, May 11th, 2004 at 6:42pm.

It’s been over 6 months since I’ve been running my blog, which also means 6 months for the design. It’s time for a change! This design is getting old on my eyes and it has a few problems that have crept in recently. Most noticeable is the problem with the Google ads. They like to flash at the top of the page when the site is loading or when using the tabbed sidebar. (...)

Site Changes

Published on Thursday, February 26th, 2004 at 6:23pm.

Over the past few days you may have noticed a few changes to the site. I removed the Shout Outs from the sidebar. I was the only one ever shouting so I figured it wouldn’t be missed. With them gone, the pages should load a little (fraction of a second) quicker. The other change is that I added a little hack next to the date/time of a post. (...)

One For All

Everything Validates!

Published on Sunday, December 21st, 2003 at 5:19pm.

My entire website is now valid XHTML 1.1! I just finished going through all of the code for the photoblog. Validate This

Published on Saturday, December 20th, 2003 at 11:55pm.

I spent the majority of the day modifying my pages to use valid XHTML 1.1 and to use tableless layouts. Everything is completed except for the photolog pages. I removed the tables from my design, but the Gallery software uses tables for a lot of the positioning, which I am not going to change. I will however be attempting to modify the code to be valid XHTML 1.1 like all of my other pages. (...)

What Next?

Published on Monday, December 15th, 2003 at 7:05pm.

When I started redesigning the site a little over a month ago, I had a plan (which changed several times) mapped out. That plan has now been completed and I have the basic pages up and running that I wanted to. So now what? For the past week or so I’ve basically only been tweaking a few things here and there. I haven’t really added any new pages. I don’t know what to do next. (...)
