Just received this email from DreamHost: I’m writing to regretfully inform you that we have decided to end our business relationship with you. One of the main reasons is that your site ‘mtdewvirus.com’ is pretty much 100% 24 hours a day getting hit with comment spam and consuming vast amounts of resources on our servers. (...)

No WWW

I posted a couple of months ago about dropping the www from URLs and have been a supporter of it for much longer. All of my sites have been www free for as long as I can remember. The www.xxxx.com URLs will redirect to the one without www. If you’re using WordPress and have been afraid to try out the .htaccess method Matt released the no-www plugin last month. (...)

Drop the WWW

Isn’t it time everyone drop the www? Or at least stop requiring it for your site to work. All of my sites work if you type in www.domain.com or simply domain.com. In fact, if you type in the www, I have the .htaccess files set to send a redirect. Try it out…you won’t get to any of my pages and still have the www showing in the address bar. I never type out www. (...)
